Privacy
policy.
This page explains how Tanya Tsikanovsky for West Hollywood City Council 2026 handles information submitted through this campaign website.
Information we collect
Depending on the action you take, the campaign may collect your name, email address, mobile number, ZIP code, street address, volunteer interests, event or sign requests, voting-reminder preferences, ballot-assistance request status, and messages you submit. Hosting and security systems may also create technical logs such as IP address, browser, device, referrer, and access time.
The campaign does not ask for—and you should never submit through a website form—your vote choice, a photo of a marked ballot, signature, date of birth, driver’s-license number, Social Security number, or other government identification.
How we use information
We use submitted information to respond to requests; organize volunteers, events, signs, voter reminders, and lawful ballot return assistance; communicate campaign news; protect the site; comply with law; and maintain campaign records appropriate to the purpose for which they were collected.
Email, calls, and text messages
Email and mobile messaging permissions are separate. If you provide a mobile number, the form requires you to affirmatively agree before the campaign may add that number to its recurring automated call and text program. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Consent is not a condition of support. Use an unsubscribe link to end campaign email.
When information is shared
We may share information with campaign staff and service providers that operate this website, forms, email, text messaging, events, volunteer systems, security, or data storage; when required by law; or to protect voters, the campaign, and the public. We do not sell personal information for commercial purposes. Donations are processed on Anedot, whose privacy practices govern information submitted there.
Ballot-assistance information
Public forms record only a request and general status. If a voter later designates a person to return a sealed ballot, campaign staff must maintain any operational custody record separately, limit access to trained personnel, and follow California Elections Code §§ 3011 and 3017.
TODAP community petition
The homepage petition collects a participant’s name, email address, ZIP code, position on a Transit-Oriented Development Alternative Plan, and an optional message. The campaign may compare a participant’s name and ZIP code with lawful public voter-file records to understand local participation, prevent duplicate responses, and organize follow-up. The form does not ask how anyone voted or intends to vote; the TODAP response is a position on the petition issue. The email address records the response and may receive occasional updates about the petition and related local issues, with an unsubscribe option. A mobile number is optional and may be used for recurring automated campaign calls and texts only after the visitor separately checks the consent box. The petition does not retain the submitter’s IP address, browser user agent, or source URL, and responses are scheduled for deletion after 180 days.
Retention and security
We retain information only as long as reasonably needed for the campaign purpose, legal compliance, security, and recordkeeping. Ballot-assistance operational data should use a shorter, documented retention schedule. We use transport encryption, access controls, updates, backups, and limited administrative access, but no website can guarantee absolute security.
Cookies, tracking, and embedded media
This site does not currently use advertising pixels or session-replay tools. WordPress, hosting, translation, forms, donation, or security providers may use necessary technologies. The Meet Tanya page includes embedded Instagram content. Loading or interacting with those embeds may send technical information—such as IP address, browser or device data, page URL, and interaction data—to Meta and may allow Meta to set or read cookies under its own privacy policies. The site does not currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals. External services may apply their own privacy policies.
Children and external links
This campaign site is not directed to children under 13. Links to Instagram, Anedot, voter-status services, and other external sites are governed by those services’ policies.
Your choices and corrections
You may ask to review, correct, or delete information you submitted, subject to legal and operational recordkeeping requirements. Contact tanya@weho4change.com. This policy may be updated; the effective date above will change when it is.
This policy is privacy-by-design campaign practice. CalOPPA is written for commercial websites, and the CCPA generally applies to qualifying for-profit businesses; neither is represented here as automatically governing this candidate committee.
